Are You Afraid of a Prolapse?
One of the things I hear most often is, “I’m so afraid of prolapse.”
If this is you, I want to challenge you to think about why.
Are you afraid of more surgery?
of not being able to do the things you want?
of losing your ability to work, play, vacation, and enjoy?
of feeling embarrassed, shamed, or like a failure?
of feeling pain?
All of these outcomes become more likely if you stop exercising.
See, most of us aren’t afraid of the diagnosis itself.
We’re afraid of what it will take away from us.
Exercise decreases your risk for symptomatic prolapse, especially the kinds of exercise that keep you strong.
I hope this can shift your perspective a little bit.
And if fear is preventing you from moving forward, I challenge you to find somewhere to take action.
It doesn’t have to be perfect.
It doesn’t have to be super intense.
But getting a little stronger, day by day, will take the power away from the fear and give it back to YOU.
