Does Standing Hurt Your Back?
Is it difficult to stand without back pain after surgery?
This is a really common complaint after hysterectomy.
Here’s what’s often going on…
Abdomen has been weakened and inflamed by large fibroids, inflammation, and bloating.
Pelvic floor is tight, weak, and always clenched. They experience "phantom tampon" symptoms and struggle to initiate their urine stream.
Glutes are exhausted, always clenching to provide support to weakened muscles.
This is a recipe for back pain…
But the good news is that you can break this cycle. It doesn’t have to be permanent.
Where do you start?
Strengthen your abs, glutes, and pelvic floor slowly, over 8–12 weeks at a minimum (but preferably for the rest of your life).
Learn to lengthen your pelvic floor in standing positions, not just on a table.
Notice where you’re holding tension throughout the day.
Unclench those butt cheeks!
