Where Are You Compromising?
I had the most enlightening conversation with a client recently…
She told me she wakes up with stiffness in her hand to the point where it’s hard to open her fingers. It’s a residual problem from an old nerve injury.
She had never stopped to think about whether this really had to be permanent…
I told her this is a compromise I don’t think she has to make. So we added some strategies to her program, like changing the way she holds weights and some recovery techniques to lessen stress on the nerve (I’ll let you know how it goes).
But I see this pattern over and over again amongst the women I work with…
You’re compromising in so many places when you don’t have to.
You don’t have to have knee pain every time you use the stairs.
You don’t have to pee your pants when you sneeze.
You don’t have to avoid exercising because you feel insecure in the gym.
This is sacrificing your quality of life.
Right now, yes, but even more for future you.
I challenge you to ask yourself, where are you compromising?
What are you accepting that you maybe don’t have to?
Then imagine you in 20 years. Does she want to still be making that same compromise?
