Your Body Is More Than A Number

Carrying extra body fat can be a risk factor for many health issues, but it’s not the only piece of the puzzle.

Unfortunately, our healthcare system often oversimplifies everything with “weight loss” as a catch-all solution—even when there’s little evidence linking food alone to disorders like fibroids.

The truth is, weight gain often shows up as a symptom of deeper hormonal, inflammatory, or metabolic imbalances. Yet, we lack the research and treatment options we deserve to properly address these root causes.

I don’t have all the answers, and anyone who says they do is lying. What I do know is that I started out very far behind in life and still managed to build a strong, healthy body that I’m proud of.

I’m forever grateful for the 21-year-old me who secretly turned on a “Walk Away the Pounds” DVD in my mom’s bedroom, setting me on a path to fitness that has lasted to this day.

She deserved better, and so do you.
