What Your Check-Up Should Really Include

If you’ve just had surgery, your post-op check-up should be much more thorough than a quick glance at your incision. There’s so much more to recovery, and I believe every woman deserves a comprehensive approach.

Here’s what I typically check when working with someone 1-2 weeks post-op, assuming things are going well:

  • Physical and movement-related assessments

  • How your body is functioning day-to-day

  • Any specific challenges or goals you have

But it doesn’t stop there. A good post-op check-up should also involve a detailed conversation about your:

  • Pelvic floor health

  • Bowel and bladder function

  • Lifestyle adjustments

  • Return to work or activity plans

When I work with someone right after surgery, we repeat this process over a 90-day period, reassessing at each healing milestone. As your body heals, new things need to be checked to ensure you're safe and progressing toward your fitness and health goals.

My mission is simple: I want this level of care and attention to detail to be the standard for every woman after surgery. We have to raise the bar when it comes to post-op care.

You deserve more. Let’s make it happen.
